This scheme was to replace two old wastewater treatment works situated in Beragh and Sixmilecross through the rationalisation of both works into a new wastewater treatment plant on the existing site at Beragh and converting Sixmilecross WwTW into a pumping station to transfer flows to the new works at Beragh.
The 1,400pe works uses Rotating Biological Contactors (RBCs) as the main treatment process and was designed and managed by Doran Consulting. It was constructed by the BSG Civil Engineering / Williams Industrial Services Joint Venture for NI Water.
