Three Mile Water Viaduct Repairs, Co. Antrim
Doran Consulting was commissioned by Northern Ireland Railways to repair the Three Mile Water Viaduct on the Belfast/ Larne Down Line.
Concrete repairs and protective coatings using the Sika Monotop System were carried out on the 136m long viaduct which spans the Three Mile Water River Valley near Jordanstown on the outskirts of Belfast. The viaduct is made up of three 10.5m approach span arches at each end and one 27m span central arch and a solid infill skew section at the Belfast end where the track passes under the Bleach Green Viaduct.
Access was provided by a combination of hanging cradles, mobile access plant and fixed scaffolds.
