Omagh Enhanced Local Hospital Highway Design

Doran Consulting was commissioned by the Western Health & Social Care Trust to address traffic and transportation issues as part of an Environmental Statement required for the planning process in relation to the first phase of works on an Enhanced Local Hospital in Omagh on the Donaghanie Road.

The Environmental Statement was prepared and submitted as part of a full planning application which was ultimately successful. We had particular involvement in the master planning of the internal site layout in relation to access roads, parking and servicing requirements.

We provided design advice in relation to road improvements which would mitigate the impact of the proposed hospital. These consisted of the provision of a new link road and improvement works to the Donaghanie Road. We also liaised with Translink regarding the delivery of a shuttle bus service linking the hospital with the town centre.
