Ballymoney Railway Footbridge Wins CEF Infrastructure Transport Award
01 October 2013
Doran Consulting is proud to announce that a commission led by one of our Chartered Civil & Structural Engineers, Simon Lamont, has won the Construction Employers Federation’s (CEF) “Infrastructure Transport Award” at the Construction Excellence Awards 2013.
The Ballymoney Railway Station Footbridge project involved the construction of a landmark steel-arch suspended pedestrian/ cycleway bridge over the railway line at Ballymoney Station, linking Riverside Park and Ballymoney town centre, along with an upgraded park and ride facility. Simon was Commission Manager and Detailed Design Engineer for this project and provided technical support to the site staff during construction.
The project, commissioned by Translink, was shortlisted for the award and came out on top ahead of some very worthy fellow finalists. The project was judged on a number of criteria including project management, construction and standard of finish, health & safety, sustainability, public impact and client satisfaction.
