Project Summary

Páirc Nua Chollann transformed Colin Glen Park into an inclusive urban park focused on community, nature and local heritage. The scheme included three feature entrances, approximately five kilometres of walking and cycling trails, a visitor hub, outdoor classroom, play facilities, lighting, wayfinding, public art and enhanced woodland.

Expertise & Delivery

The project was delivered through RIBA Stages 1–7 with Doran Consulting coordinating the multidisciplinary team. Major earthworks exceeding 5,000 cubic metres supported the new entrances, trails and facilities. Consultation with statutory bodies, utilities, residents, community groups and Disability Action NI informed the design. Design reviews addressed entrance gradients of up to 1 in 9 and led to a multi-ramp solution alongside steps for wheelchair access. BIM, cost, risk, value-engineering and design-quality reviews supported coordination and delivery.
