Project Summary
Dungannon’s public realm scheme design aimed to mitigate traffic congestion around Market Square and turn it into a town centre focal point. The coordinated regeneration strategy brings together movement, accessibility, placemaking and town-centre vitality.
Expertise & Delivery
Doran Consulting provided civil and structural engineering services to John McQuillan Contracts Ltd under a design and build contract, for the construction phase of the project. The design included developing inclusive routes, crossings, levels, tactile information and resting opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Key features of the works included formation of two new event spaces and grass terraces within Market Square, movement and full restoration of the war memorial built in 1922.
