Project Summary
The Ballyhornan community sports hub comprises a FIFA-standard synthetic 3G pitch, six root-mounted galvanised-steel floodlight columns with LED fittings, ball-stop netting, spectator and perimeter fencing, an accessible changing pavilion with referee area, equipment store and plant room, and a new car park with coach and accessible spaces.
Expertise & Delivery
The project was delivered under the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Short Contract, with Doran Consulting preparing the contract documents and Works Information, including drawings, NBS specifications and schedules, and assessing tender returns. The team coordinated investigations, planning, drainage, earthworks, pavement design, utilities and pavilion structures, with particular attention to inclusive movement between parking, changing accommodation and the pitch. During construction, Doran Consulting monitored programme, quality, risk and information requirements and coordinated site supervision, handover and the defects period. The project was completed in October 2022.
