Derry City Council Mark Milestone in Extension to City Cemetery

Mayor Kevin Campbell has welcomed the completion of Phase III of the civil engineering and landscaping works which have been carried out to extend available burial ground to the City Cemetery.
The designers and contractors commissioned by Derry City Council, including Doran Consulting, Newtownstewart Construction and MWA, were all commended for their work.
John Kelpie, Strategic Director, Derry City Council said: “We are delighted that the civil engineering and landscaping work at the cemetery has been finished on budget and six weeks ahead of the original contract completion date”.
The completion of the Phase III works was marked at the cemetery with the official opening of the restored “Chapel Garden”.
