Leisure & Sports Engineering Design Projects
Doran Consulting has particular expertise in advising on state-of-the-art leisure and sports amenities for all sections of the community at all levels, including public leisure centres, schools & university facilities and specialist facilities for full-time and professional athletes competing in national and international events.
Recently we acted as lead consultant providing civil and structural engineering design advice on the refurbishment of the historic Mary Peters Track facility in Belfast, with the provision of a new ‘Mondo’ track and spectator facilities. We also provided a range of design services for the University of Ulster High Performance Centre, which provides high level support to Northern Ireland’s top athletes and coaches across a range of Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games sports at its purpose built facilities in Jordanstown. The Mid Ulster Sports Complex in Cookstown, for which Doran Consulting was appointed lead consultant, has the most advanced synthetic turf surface in Northern Ireland.
We have also provided a range of design services in relation to a range of sports pitches for various schools including Campbell College and St Fanchea’s College, and provided design services for various local community amenities including the refurbishment of Valley Leisure Centre, which now houses one of the largest clear-span constructions in Ireland.
